Welcome to Moontown
The Moontown Foundation is a non-profit social venture committed to ending environmental, social, and economic injustice by removing existing barriers that prevent historically disadvantaged communities from successfully participating in the emerging green, post-carbon, economy.
Moontown works to implement strategies with specific actions designed to lift people out of poverty and propel them along a pathway to social and economic prosperity through direct immersion opportunities in clean and renewable energy, healthy and sustainable living, transportation transformation, and sustainable leadership development.

Moontown works to achieve its goals through community outreach and advocacy, green career workshops and internships, and launching innovative pilot initiatives designed to:
- Raise awareness of the impact of global climate change on poor and disconnected communities.
- Introduce disadvantaged teens and young adults to eco-apprenticeship and eco-preneurship opportunities in conservation and sustainability.
- Implement effective education and training programs that meet industry demand, recruiting and support our target demographic groups.
- Link adult basic and remedial education with occupational skills training.
- Involve employers and labor unions in the determination of relevant skills and competencies.
- Ensure that supportive services — integrated with education and training — are delivered by organizations with direct access to targeted demographic groups in a culturally competent way.
Moontown is committed to rebuilding and restoring the promise of the American dream: one person, one house, and one community at a time. By the year 2020, we will have trained over 100,000 low-income, historically underprivileged individuals to become environmental, social, and economic agents of change.
The Moontown Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization, EIN: 20-8210672.
