Super Tornado Path of Destruction in Tuscaloosa, AL

Super Tornadoes in Tuscaloosa

On April 27, 2011, over 50 distinct tornadoes swept through the state of Alabama. Considered one of the deadliest tornado outbreaks in over 40 years, the storm killed over 240 Alabamians.

The City of Tuscaloosa, best known for its perennial powerhouse football team, took the worst hit as a mile-wide tornado, described by some as demonic, plowed through town taking lives, destroying infrastructure, and leaving thousands homeless.
